The Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies with Multiple Subject Credential is for transfer students who have started but have not yet completed a four-year undergraduate degree related to education. You will complete the program in two academic years that culminate in fieldwork experience. Those interested in an extended pathway option can speak with their designated academic advisor upon admission. Upon graduation, you will be prepared to teach multiple subjects in the Pre-K-12 elementary school setting.
Why should you major in education studies with multiple subject credential at Redlands?
- During student teaching, students are supervised by a cooperating teacher at the school site and a University of Redlands supervisor.
- The use of educational technology is incorporated into all courses, field experiences, and California Teacher Performance Assessment (CalTPA) cycles, as are the theory and skills needed to effectively teach English learners and other diverse student populations enrolled in today’s classrooms.
- The programs are accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) and aligned with SB 2042 standards.

- Completion of 60 credit units at an accredited institution which are comprised of the following profile of courses:
- English: at least 1 course
- Math: at least 1 course

- Social Sciences: at least 1 course
- The Arts: at least 1 course
- Evidence of meeting Basic Skills Requirement
- Transcript with evidence of undergraduate coursework from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Evidence of a negative TB test result within the last 2 years
- Certificate of Clearance
- Experience working with students preferred, but not required
- Two recommendations from professionals who know the applicant's capacity for academic work
- Personal Statement: Please write a 500- word statement that articulates why an equity-centered pedagogy will be important for you as a future teacher. In your response, please refer to at least three of the bold-faced words/phrases in the Department of Teaching and Learning's conceptual framework.
The Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies program is offered in a hybrid format. Courses in terms 1-4 are scheduled twice per week, in the evening. These courses will meet in person for the first session and synchronously online for the second session of each week.
The coursework and field experience segments of the program are delivered in a prescribed sequence. Pathways are recommended for timely program completion.
